As a matter of fact, I did just that in 8th grade: I only showed up for Band and Science, as I scorned all the other classes (especially gym). The rest of the time I was officially in the "alternative program;" really, I was hanging around the library reading up on Tudor monarchs, or staying home watching docudramas of Sir John A. MacDonald racing to join the railway across Canada before those greedy Yanks could "manifest destiny" their way into getting Saskatchewan. (Any guesses where I grew up?) Anna, you got my number. :-) - RW
